Terms of Service

Version 1 · in effect from September 27, 2026

1. Who we are and what this is

RPG Furnace ("the Service") is an online tabletop role-playing platform. You can create characters, play campaigns with an AI or human Dungeon Master, chat with characters, and generate images, audio and books from your play.

These Terms are an agreement between you and the operator of the Service. By creating an account, you agree to them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to a contract or consenting to the processing of your personal data. You confirm your age when you create an account.

3. Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Accounts are for people, not for automated scraping, resale, or sharing between several users.

4. Coins, purchases and what generation costs

Generation — text, images, audio, video — costs real money to produce, and the Service passes that cost on in Coins.

  • Coins are prepaid credit for use on this Service. They are not currency, they earn no interest, and they cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • The price of an action is shown before you take it. Where a price can only be known after the work is done, you are told so.
  • Coins bought with money are described in the Payments and Refunds policy, which forms part of these Terms.
  • If you supply your own provider API key, generation using that key is billed by that provider to you, not by us.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the characters, campaigns, worlds and writing you create.

You give us the permission we need to run the Service with it: to store it, display it back to you and to people you share it with, and to send it to the AI providers who generate responses. That permission ends when you delete the content, except where we must keep a copy to meet a legal obligation, and except for copies other people legitimately hold because you shared it with them.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

6. AI-generated content

The Service produces text and images using third-party AI models. Output can be wrong, strange, or unlike what you asked for. It is not reviewed by a person before you see it, and it is not advice of any kind.

Rights in AI output are unsettled in many places. We do not promise that generated material can be copyrighted, or that it is free of resemblance to other work.

7. Acceptable use

The Acceptable Use policy forms part of these Terms. In short: do not use the Service to produce sexual content involving minors, to harass real people, to break the law, or to attack the Service or the people using it.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that break it. Where we do, we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

8. The System Reference Document

The Service uses material from the System Reference Document 5.1 by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence. That attribution appears in the product where the material is used. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.

9. Availability

The Service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that generation will always succeed, or that data will never be lost — though we take backups and test that they restore.

10. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time. What happens to your data when you do is set out in the Data Retention and Deletion policy.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or where we must in order to comply with the law. Unused Coins in an account closed for a breach are not refunded; in any other case, see the Payments and Refunds policy.

11. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, the Service is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data or lost content, or for anything produced by an AI model. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Changes

We may change these Terms. If a change is material you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use the parts of the Service it covers, and the version you accepted and the date are recorded.

13. Law, and getting in touch

These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away rights your own local law gives you and that cannot be signed away.
